Community Volunteer / Youth Services:
- Served in both leadership and support roles as a volunteer for key educational and social programs focused on advancing the intellectual and physical well- being of Chicago-area children and young adults:
- Founded and managed the Murray Schoolyard Basketball Classic focusing creating a positive family atmosphere for children, teenagers, young adults and adults during the summer.
- Founded and coordinated Youth, Vision, and Integrity, Inc. (Murray Schoolyard Basketball Classic) Program focused on tutoring and mentoring children, young adults, and adults.
- Completed three terms as a Local School Council (LSC) Member for the Murray Language Academy Local School Council. Two terms as parent representative, one term as community representative.
- Chicago Youth Centers (CYC) Elliot Donnelley Youth Center (location) Served as Board Member and Mentor/Tutor for CHESS (Chicago Educational Support and Scholarship) Program.
- Organized, scheduled, and led free tutoring services for students in Chicago’s Hyde Park / Kenwood communities.
- Served as a Guest Speaker on the topic “Get An Education, Stay in School” for numerous Chicago elementary schools.
- Current Board Member of the Chicago Youth Center (CYC) Elliot Donnelly Youth Center.
- Served as Illinois National Guard Lincoln’s ChalleNGe Academy mentor. Lincoln’s ChalleNGe Academy is a federal and state funded youth program for 16-18 year old at-risk youth in Illinois.
